FILE WORKBENCH

Privacy & browser storage

You can read this journal and use its tools without creating an account. This notice describes the launch version dated 18 October 2026.

What happens to inputs and files

Tools run in your browser. Files selected in File Workbench are read locally for the operation you request; this implementation does not upload them to a processing server. Calculation inputs and observations are not synchronized to a server-side account. Downloaded results are created on your device.

Local browser storage

Article checklists and tools that offer a shortlist, practice record or observation log may save those choices in this site’s browser storage. Use the reset, remove or clear controls provided by the tool, or clear this site’s data in browser settings. Clearing data can remove saved choices. Export anything you want to retain first.

Requests to the host

Opening pages and loading local scripts, images or reference datasets creates ordinary requests to the hosting server. Operational logs may contain IP addresses, times, requested paths, browser details and errors. This notice does not promise a fixed retention period.

Advertising and analytics

No advertising or analytics script is loaded at launch. A verification meta tag and ads.txt identify a potential publisher without requesting ads. If advertising is enabled later, this notice and applicable consent controls must reflect the implementation.

External references and audio

External links lead to services with their own practices. The music practice tool synthesizes audio locally after you choose to play it. It does not access your microphone. Scripts, illustrations and datasets used by the tools are served from this website.
